Fred F. Lowry, age 51, of Poplar, Montana died Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Poplar.
Fred was born May 23, 1956 in Poplar to Velma (Longee) Nepstad and Fred T. Lowry.
He grew up in Sidney, MT with his family until the death of his father. In 1968, at the age of 12, he moved to Michigan with his brother DeLaine and his sister Victoria. He grew up at the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home in Eaton Rapids, MI until the age of 18.
In 1974 he moved to Wyoming and joined the US Army where he became a Ranger. After serving in the Army, he moved to Poplar where he lived until his death.
Fred did various jobs such as seismography, firefighting, root digging and roofing. In his spare time Fred loved his music, reading, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, working on cars and he loved watching sports.
Fred is survived by two sisters; Victoria Lowry and Valerie Wilson both of Gillette, WY; two brothers, Marvin Nepstad of Gillette, WY and DeLaine Lowry of Sheridan, WY; three nieces, Amanda Nepstad of Billings, MT, Elizabeth Nepstad and Jessica Wilson of Gillette, WY; and one nephew DeLaine Lowry of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred T. Lowry, grandmother Effie Two Bulls, aunt, Irma Longee, uncle, Rudolph Young and step-father, Marlan Nepstad.
A Wake will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 403 9th Avenue East in Poplar with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Fred will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Lindsay Memorial Presbyterian Church in Poplar with Rev Dr. James Isaac officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar City Cemetery.
