Gail Molsberry passed peacefully on July 27, 2011, in Des Moines, Wash., with family present.
Gail was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Crosby, N.D., the daughter of Duncan and Sophie Hay. She grew up on the family farm and graduated with degree in Journalism from the University of North Dakota – Grand Forks. Gail met her husband, Milton, at UND. They have three children, Bruce, Grant and Launa, and two grandchildren Corey and Meaghan.
Gail and Milton’s life traversed the state of Montana: Plevna, Lodge Grass, Florence, Fort Benton, Brockton and Wolf Point. Gail was an artist, a Scout leader for her young children, and volunteered at church, schools and in her community. After raising her children, Gail started a tax preparation service and later managed the Wolf Point Federal Credit Union until her retirement. She remained in Wolf Point until moving to the northwest to live with her daughter.
All that knew Gail will remember her warmth and love of laughter. Family and friends were central to her life, marked by memories of holidays together, summer reunions and camping at the lake. She especially enjoyed musical and theater events, trips with friends and was happy just spending time talking with those she loved.
A good cook, her children remember the special meals created for them, the family cinnamon roll recipe and baking apple pies for Dad on his birthday.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Duncan and Mark; and her husband Milton. She is survived by her children; daughter-in-law Dionne; grandchildren; extended family members William Apt and Jack Howard; and brother Glen Hay.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Wolf Point (415 Johnson St Wolf Point, Mt. 59201, www.firstlutheranwp.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
