Gale “Dusty” M Menz Jr.

September 23, 1952 — January 8, 2014

Our beloved Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Friend went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2014 at his ranch in Fort Kipp, Montana.  Gale E. Menz (Dusty) was born on September 23, 1952 in Wolf Point, Montana. He was born to Gale E.Menz, Sr. and Lida Ollie Denny-Menz of Fort Kipp, Montana.  He had an older brother Emery Wayne Menz who passed away in a car accident in 1969. He admired his brother, and enjoyed the time he spent with him.

Dusty graduated from Brockton High School in May 1972 in school, he played basketball and ran track.

Dusty married his longtime love Bonnie Mae Russell June 2, 1972 on the farm at Gale and Lida’s home.  Out of this union nine children were born:  Stacey (John) Summers, Danelle (Mike) Olson, Gale E. (Kira) Menz III, Myron (Jennifer) W. Menz, Trudy E. Menz, Misty L. Menz, Dustin L. (Devon) Menz, Leslie D. Menz, Kaycee L. Menz.

Dusty’s hobbies included riding & breaking horses, being a pool shark, fishing, hunting, travelling with his grandkids, shopping, eating at local resteraunts, and attending auctions.    In his younger years he loved roping, he roped at the George Ferguson and Crystal Bighorn arena’s,  also in Sidney, Alexander, Circle, Wolf Point, and other rodeos.  He loved his horses, dogs, and cats.   Especially his horses’ Princess, Comanche, Roan, Vegas, Mac, and Red who accompanied him to local rodeo’s.

He worked for the Fort Peck Tribes for numerous years as Tribal Fish and Game Warden, Animal Control Officer, A & S industries, Tribal Road Department, and Poplar gun factory.

Most of all he loved his grandchildren: Kinsey C. Skillen, Sierra Marie Summers, Peyton John Irvin Summers, Luke Jacoby Summers, Myron Victor Jerome Menz, Cher Pearlicia Menz, Simone Croy Menz, Ethan Wade Menz, Aleczander James Menz, Kiel Breckyn Menz, Emerlee Lynn Menz, Jason Ryan Trinder, Jr. Jerek Cade Summers, Keera Lee Menz, Caden Rayne Summers, and Kyle Jaye Summers, Aiden James Chopper, Indego Skye Lee Menz.

Dusty was an Elder of the Red Eagle Memorial Church, he loved to attend church, and assist in church activities. He loved the Lord and always prayed for needy people especially for his nephew Joray Four Bear to recover from his accident.

He is survived by his Uncle Dave (Pat) Menz, adopted sisters Donna Black Dog, Isabelle Youngman, Wilma Youngman and Valerie Red Elk. He is survived by his adopted brothers, Enright Big Horn, Sr., James (Sonny) Bear, Charlie Four Bear, Ed Crawford, Marlon Red Elk, Herman Red Elk, John Boyd, Roy Daniels, Bob Daniels. He is survived by his mother in law Vida Muskrat, Sister in law Joanne Russell, Brother in law Norman (John) Muskrat. Also his cousins Rusty, Lyle, and Orrin Denny as well as Dave, John and Judge Boyd. Nephews/Nieces-John (Percy)Bear, Lance Brown, Russell Denny, Jr., Tricia Bear, Loattie Bear, Lori Bear, and Lorraine Tuengal, Tina Menz.  He was especially fond of his loyal 4-legged companions “Buddy, and Buck.”

His extended family consists of Necklace, Red Dog,  Boyd, Shields, Bear, Clark, Denny, Red Eagle,  Trudell, Dupree, Hawk, Half Red, Red Elk, Youngman, Daniels, Eagle, Bighorn, Redbear, Lemay,  and Cloud’s.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Emery, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents, adopted brother Gerald (Geish) Lambert, Raymond Four Bear, Roy Bear. His adopted sisters Mona Robinson, Josephine Robinson, Mary Jane Robinson, Nephew Roy (Gus) Bear, and his grandson Baby Bear, and Michael Shields and his aunts Loattie Boyd, Almena Red Dog, and Serena Good Solider.

Dad we will miss your teasing, joking, honking, pounding on the wall, and most of all your love for all of us. We love you dearly, and will miss you PAPA Dusty! Now go Walk freely, Ride your horses, and Rejoice!

A prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, January 13 at the RedEagleChurch in FortKipp. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14 at the RedEagleChurch in FortKipp. Interment will follow at the Menz family cemetery in FortKipp. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.claytonstevensonchapel.com .
