Genine Valerie Red Eagle, age 44, of Poplar, MT passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Poplar  Community Hospital with her family at her side.

Genine was born on December 27, 1968 in Poplar to Gary “Buzzy” and Georgia Red Eagle. She carries the Indian name “Wambdi Duta Win” (Red Eagle Woman). She was Junior Princess of Oil Celebration in the early 80’s and later Princess at the 1984 Fort Kipp Celebration, where her father and several uncles sang as the “Original” Fort Kipp Singers. She attended school in Poplar and Brockton. Her hobbies include listening to powwow music, playing dice, pool, machines, and bingo. She loved spending time with her baby, Miss Gerra Ann, who brightened her days. “Mama G” as Brandie called her always looked after her family and friends. She was always telling jokes and sharing a laugh. Her smile will surely be missed.

Genine is survived by her mother, Georgia Ann Red Eagle of Poplar; adopted mother, Velma Nepsted of Poplar; daughter, Beverly Ann St. Germaine; several adopted daughters, whom she loved just like her own, Brandie and Shannon Dionne, and Dorelle and Donelle Black Thunder all of Poplar; son, Jeremy Paul St. Germaine of Poplar; adopted son, Travis Black Thunder of Poplar; sister, Georell (Terry) Red Eagle of Poplar; adopted sisters, Maureen (Rick) Dionne, Connie Jones, Mary (Greg) Plante, Kathy (CP) Red Eagle, Carol Red Eagle, Amanda (Marvin) Bull Chief, Joel Ferguson, Thomasine Hamilton and Crystal Lambert all of Poplar, and Lelanda “Kae” Roberts of Brockton, MT; brothers, George “Dada” and Gerred (Jen) Red Eagle, both of Poplar; adopted brothers, Delrae “Bubba” Smith, Brian Jones, both of Poplar, and Bear Roberts of Brockton; aunts, Gloria (Bob) Garcia of San Jose, CA, Pauline Boxer, Reba Ogle, Doreen Red Eagle, Thelma Jones, Joann Browning and Iona Jo Matthews, all of Poplar; uncles, John Youpee, Piere Youpee, and Everett Jones, all of Poplar; grandmothers, Rita Long Chase, Florence Waspi-Youngman, and Loraine Stormy, all of Poplar; grandfather, Mike Youngman of Poplar; nephews, Gary Red Eagle, III, Jesse Red Eagle, Harold Red Eagle, III,  Richard (Nettie) Dionne, Jr., of Wapato, WA, Tolley and Emery “Squirrel” Red Eagle, Jr., of Poplar; nieces, Laverne “Gummy” White Bear of Helena, MT, Faith Red Eagle, Garrae Red Eagle,  and Mercedee Dionne, all of Poplar, and Mandy Red Eagle of Ft. Kipp; grandchildren, Gerra Ann Red Eagle, whom she raised since she was born, Kovawn Red Eagle, Macey and Cale Stump, EmmaRae Cammie and LilleyAnn Martell all of Poplar, Geoffrey, Adam, and Winter Black Dog of Fort Kipp, and Daylon and Talon Dionne of Wapato, WA. Our family is large, if we forgot to mention anyone we apologize. Genine loved her family dearly, and always let it show.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Red Eagle, Sr.; brothers, Gary Red Eagle, Jr., Geoffrey Red Eagle, and Harold Red Eagle, Jr.; grandson, Cameron Black Dog; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Red Eagle; maternal grandparents, Josephine Youngman and Jesse Wakan; and numerous adopted brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles on both sides of her family.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Fort Kipp Cemetery.
