George B. Martell, age 92, of Sidney was called home on July 2, 2016. He was born August 28, 1923 to Charles Martell and Sophie Lambert Martell. “Boyce” grew up in Blair and attended school in Fort Kipp. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and excelled in a number of jobs, including work at a race car track in Dundee, Illinois, a pig farm in Wisconsin and a lot of farming work.
George married Norma Delorme. They had 5 children together before divorcing. Boyce fell in love with and married Crystal Duncan in 1973. They would spend the next 43 years together. His interests included doing mechanical projects, hunting and fishing. He was an able knitter and made lots of pillows. He also made a number of teepee lamps.
“Boyce” is survived by his wife, Crystal; his children, George Jr., Arthur, Vicky, Debbie & Kermit; Step-children, Roberta Amundson and Richard Johnson; a brother, Floyd (Roberta) Martell Sr. and a sister, Ann Syverson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sophie, Roger, Arthur, Lewis Lambert, Julian, Daniel Sr., Max Sr., Martin Sr., Charles Jr., Melda LaRoque, Lois, Mary Rose and numerous other relatives.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the CSMC Chapel in Wolf Point. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the Fort Kipp Cemetery following the Funeral. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
