George Farrel Boyd formerly of Poplar age 57 passed away June 12th, peacefully at home with his wife by his side after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer in Dime Box, TX.
George is the son of Lionel Boyd and Geraldine Spotted Bird, born May 7th, 1966 in Brockton. He was proceeded in death by his sister Helen Roberta (Sister Bug) Boyd, maternal grandparents, James SpottedBird and Lucy Jones SpottedBird; paternal grandparents, George and Helen Boyd; Aunts Veronica Mary Spotted Bird, Judith Ann Boyd; uncle Darryl Vernon Boyd, and his beloved mother Geraldine Spotted Bird.
He leaves behind to carry on, his wife, Sandra Kay Boyd of Dime Box, TX; two stepsons Demetrius (Ida) Reed, Marcus (Veronica) Reed, both of Memphis TN; 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a God – grandson. He also leaves behind his dad Lionel Dwight Boyd (Rose Michon Boyd) of Poplar, MT; brothers. Eugene Charles Boyd (Lynette) of Brockton, MT and Patrick James Boyd of Brockton, MT; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus his “Lord and Savior” as he would always say!
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Dime Box, TX, under the love and care of Pastors Sister Annie Ruth Scurlock and Brother Jackie gray. He loved to help whenever, wherever and whomever he could. He’s well known for his friendly smile and warm handshake welcoming everyone that entered the doors of the church before service.
George dearly loved his family and was so proud of his Native American heritage who he prayed for without ceasing. He set up multiple revivals on the Fort Peck Reservation with evangelist Andre’ Walker of Dime Box to show his love for them while yielding in obedience to the words Jesus Christ, to be a witness!
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Poplar, Montana. Interment will follow at the Riverside Catholic Cemetery.
