George “Buff” Wetsit

October 9, 1968 — June 30, 2017

Our beloved George “Buff” Frederick Wetsit Jr. passed away peacefully on June 30 th 2017, in Wolf Point, Montana with his family by his side.

Buff was born October 9 th 1968 in Wolf Point, Montana to George “Bootsie” Frederick Wetsit Sr. and Elvira Donnice Mahto. He attended school in Montana, South Dakota, and also Oregon. He enjoyed wrestling around with people.

Growing up with other siblings he would spend summers with his foster parents in Oregon. Living with them he learned to farm and enjoyed reading. Marvel comics was his lifelong hobby.

Buff always enjoyed to rock. Rock and heavy metal was his favorite. His favorite band is “Kiss” and he collected their memorabilia.

In 1986 he met Laura Romero and together they lived in Idaho and had Alexandria Romero, Victoria Romero, Mylan Wetsit, and Elisa Wetsit. Buff enjoyed taking family work outings, summer vacations, and swimming. They moved back to Wolf Point and in 1996 they got married. Sadly their union ended and he moved to North Dakota.

While in North Dakota he met and married Nova Vivier. Together they raised a son Blas and she had other kids who he took care of from time to time. He worked various jobs but working at the motel was his favorite. Learning the guests’ stories, chatting with them, and meeting family members he had not seen in years. That union ended and he moved back to Wolf Point.

Buff then met his wonderful partner Glenda White. Who took care of him and was by his side until his end. Together she helped him collect his Marvel comic action figures or Star Wars figures. He liked receiving and buying himself Marvel or super hero t-shirts or sweaters.

He loved his family dearly and always made sure to keep in touch. He treated his friends as family and always had someone at his house visiting. Buff had a wonderful sense of humor making your visit very enjoyable.

His grandchildren brought him the biggest joy in life. He made sure he visited or taught them something.

Buff is survived by Glenda White, Mylan (Norma) Wetsit (Mylan Jr., Ameah, Laura, and Emma), Alex Romero (Ruth, Jessica), Vicky (Cody) Romero (Sharen, Ralean, Ryder), Elisa Wetsit (Joshua, Nevaeh, Savannah, and Elliot Jr.); his sisters Sandra (Mike) Stracener, Georgia (Gordon) Wetsit, Denise (Loren) Wetsit, all of Wolf Point; his brothers, Dennis (Nancy) Mahto of Winner, South Dakota, Blaine (Sally) Wetsit of Winner, South Dakota, and Jeff (Tamera) Wetsit, of Las Vegas, Nevada; his Aunts, Loretta “Tweet” Walton, Katie “Dolly” Stark, and special aunt, Carol Wetsit-Jones; Buff is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and grandchildren, as well as Elvira Mahto’s relatives in North Dakota and South Dakota.
