Gerald Boots Jackson, Sr., “Togahe Giya” First to Fly passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022.

Boots was born on June 24, 1950 in Poplar, MT to George Grant “Kao” Jackson and Gertrude Louise “Tootie” Bushman Clark.

On May 15, 1993 he married Shirley June Jackson they resided in Poplar, MT and through their union they combined their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Boots serviced in the Army and he held many careers throughout his lifetime, he was a police officer, Director of Fish and Game, SORNA Officer, Housing Commissioner and Tribal Executive Board Member.

Boots enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends. He forever had a story and would make everyone laugh with him. He enjoyed his card family, playing many games of Contract and Poker.

Boots is survived by his wife, Shirley June Jackson; his siblings Ron and Ruth Jackson, Calvin Clark, Coleen Clark, Lanette Clark; his daughter Leigh An Jackson and husband Russell “Rusty” Cochran; his sons Gerald and Xanthia Jackson, Ivan Witford, his daughters Autumn White and Criss Thompson, Leilani and Jason Dupree, Gina and Billy Bow, MC Jackson, Heather Jackson, Holly Jackson, Alicia Barker, Mitchellene Clark and AnnJenette Rodriguez; his nephews Roland Clark, David Clark, Mitchell Clark, Loren Clark and Calvin Clark; his grandchildren Christian “CJ” Hustad, Jayda, Kayden, and Joshua Jackson, Eliza and Skylar Jackson, Rain Shepard, Summer Falcon, Justin and Jude Reddoor; great grandchildren Lane and Evaleena; his sisters Sharon Plante and Edna Brien; his brothers Don Granbois, Mike Laliberty, Boy Ladd, Kelsey Packineau, Peter Big Stone; his uncles Lyle Denny, Sonny Bill Whitehead.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kermit Clark, Ethel “Pie” Jackson, Judy and Cayin Rodriguez, George “Rusty” Jackson, Mitchell Clark and Roland Clark; sons Joshua Jackson and Wade White Eagle; daughter Adrienne “Annie” Jackson; nephews Brian Jackson, and John John Jackson, Bobby Rodriguez; special brothers Bob Boyer and Brian Akawinzy; uncles Dean Bushman, Luke Bushman, Pat Bushman; aunts Joyce, Roberta and Mary Bushman.
