Our beloved father, grandpa, son, uncle, brother, “Wi’Kaa Su’ta” (Strong Rope), Gordon Dean ComesLast, age 46, of Wolf Point, MT was called home to the Happy Hunting Grounds on Saturday, August 10, 2013.
He is survived by his children Brandon, Nicole (Josh) and Randi (Travis) all of Billings, whom he shared with Teri Ann Walker of Billings; grandchildren Jordon, Hayden and Elaine; parents, LeRoy and Sabrina ComesLast; brothers Richard, Emerson, Taylor (Crystal), Edison, and Lucas all of Wolf Point; sisters, Sarah Darnell, Amber (Adam) ComesLast YellowOwl, Kristi (Brandon) ComesLast Big Leggings, Rebecca, Malissa (Charles Two Bulls) ComesLast all of Wolf Point and Poplar; uncle, Daniel (Spoon) ComesLast; cousin, Violet ComesLast and family; nieces and nephews Kelly, Ryan and Hunter; grandma, Alice Sepulveda and children, Vickey Shuck of Glendive, MT, Donna Sepulveda, Erma Sepulveda, Jackie Sepulveda, Cheryl Sepulveda, Maria Sepulveda all of Butte, MT, Marcelina Sepulveda of Douglas, WY, and Gaudaloupe Sepulveda, Jr., of Missoula, MT; and other numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mothers, Iris Sepulveda ComesLast and Tamara Claymore ComesLast; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Rena ComesLast; maternal grandparents; aunties, Eleanor McCabe, Prescilla ComesLast, and Gloria ComesLast; baby sister, LaRae Dawn ComesLast; and nephews, Angel and Justin ComesLast.
Gordon attended Poplar schools and Chemawa Indian School. He graduated from Clearfield Job Corp in Ogden, Utah with a trade certificate in Welding. He met the mother of his children, Teri Ann and resided in Poplar for a number of years where he worked at A & S Tribal Industries and for his father at the ComesLast Ranch. He moved to Fort Belknap and attended Fort Belknap Community College. After his unfortunate accident he resided between, Poplar and Billings where he met numerous people who became dear to him throughout the remainder of his life.
He enjoyed his music, his children and grandchildren and enjoyed special visits with his dad, LeRoy and learning the traditional ways. He loved telling stories to his family and making his loved ones happy and seeing their smiles. He liked cruising, going to concerts and movies and enjoyed playing pranks on his friends.
Gordon will be greatly missed by all whose hearts he touched and will always be remembered for his humor, generosity, compassion for others and love of life in spite of his unique circumstances. He is an inspiration to all.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 14 at the Poplar Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 15 at the Poplar Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Comeslast Family Cemetery in Poplar.
