Harold Allen Big Leggins Sr., age 60, of Harlem, MT, our father, brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Harlem.
Harold was born on February 9, 1951 to Sherwin Big Leggins Sr. and Bernice Smoker-Turn Toes. He grew up and attended school in Frazer. He later moved to Fort Belknap, MT. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting friends. He looked forward to the annual powwow in Fort Belknap each year so he could catch up with his family from Frazer. He was a kind and caring person that would listen to anyone that just needed somebody to talk to. He had a great sense of humor and was always smiling while he made his family and friends laugh.
He is survived by his sons, Leland (Kristen) Big Leggins, Harold Big Leggins Jr. both of Poplar, MT; daughter, Jonita of Texas; step-chidren, Shannon and Shane Wing both of Fort Belknap; brothers, Sherwin (Gena) Big Leggins Jr. of New Mexico, Dewayne (Clarice) Big Leggins, Dwight Big Leggins both of Wolf Point, David (Francis) Big Leggins, Franklin (Roxanne) Turn Toes both of Frazer, Rodney (Rhona) Turn Toes of Rocky Boy, MT, and Shane Big Leggins of Fort Belknap; sisters, Tracie Big Leggins, Wanda Big Leggins, and Erin Big Leggins all of Fort Belknap; and many aunts, unless, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren too numerous to mention.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Sherwin Big Leggins Sr. and Bernice Smoker-Turn Toes; brothers, Eugene Big Leggins and Louis Turn Toes Jr.; and sister, Baby Girl Big Leggins.
Harold will be missed by all that knew him.
An evening service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18 also at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer.
