In loving memory of Harry Three Stars Sr., (Hehaka Gi) Brown Elk. He was called home by the Creator on November 27, 2014 surrounded by his family. Upon graduation Harry joined the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict from October 1954 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged; he then continued to serve in the Reserves for six years.
Harry moved to Poplar in 1962 where he met Hazel Lester, they were married in 1964 until August 2006 when she was called home by the Creator. Harry was a humble, respectful man who always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He was viewed as a positive role model to his family, friends, the community and the people that knew him. He always had time for his grandchildren and attended many school functions in support of them. He also enjoyed digging turnips, picking berries and making dried corn and dried meat. He shared the fruits of his labor generously with family and friends.
He began his dancing early in the 80’s and traveled to the many Pow-Wows in Canada and the United States. He was asked by the Badland Singers to travel with them when they were asked to sing at festivals and cultural events.
