Heidi Johnson

September 7, 1979 — April 15, 2022

Heidi “Faye” Johnson, 42 departed to join the Great Spirit on April 15, 2022, she was born to Gayle Lynn Wetsit and Lionel Dean Johnson on September 7 th , 1979, in Poplar, MT.  She graduated in the year of 1998 at Poplar High School.  She worked for most of her employment time at Tribal Express where she was exposed to all walks of life and that was one of many doorways to meeting a plethora of adopted family members.

Heidi had a wealthy social life, she was passionate about her beliefs, her family – in all forms.  She always lived by her code, a code that honors a sense of love that went beyond blood.  Because when she loved, she loved completely and without judgment.  She was and continues to be a tough character whose iron shell protected a soft heart.  Heidi didn’t waste her breath on pointless praise, she only spoke her mind.  She loved to spend time with friends and family, doing the things she loved such as playing pool, bonfires, basketball, softball and card games.  She was always walking because if she couldn’t get there, she would always find a way.

Heidi was loved and cherished by all who knew her.  She was adored completely, even in her workplace where she made work fun for every coworker that knew her.

She is survived by her one and only sister Nina (Chris) Fetty of Williston, ND, her niece Melody Red Eagle of Poplar, MT, her nephew Zack Rosebluff of Helena, MT and her baby niece Christina Fetty of Williston, ND.  These were her babies, the children that she never got the chance to have, and she had no problem reminding them every chance she had.  Her Nitner, nieces and nephew were her pride and joy, her whole world.  Her adopted Sisters Barbie Merculieff, Allison “JR” Franklin, Terri Lee Summers, Vermae “Sister” Smith, Willette “W” Lambert her adopted brothers, Loyd Lambert, William “Duta” Lambert II, Dion Hopkins, adopted niece Jenna Red Thunder her adopted beautiful son Kyle Granbois and her very special nephew close to her heart Chance Boyd.

She is survived by her aunts and uncles; Debrah (Ron) HisHorseIsThunder of Fort Yates, ND, Diane (Jim) Hoy of Arizona, Larry (Edna) Wetsit of Wolf Point, MT, Harold (Anna) Wetsit of Billings, MT, Toni (Virgil) Henderson of Rocky Boy, MT, Kenny (Sandra) Lewis of Lodge Pole, MT, Lori (Donovan) Archambault of Lodge Pole, MT, Loren Lewis of Lodge Pole, MT, Resa (Robert) Laroque of Fort Belnap, MT and Vermae Taylor of Wolf Point, MT.

She is survived by her descendants of No Breast, Bad Temper Bear, He Wetsit and Gray families.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lionel & Gayle Johnson, her nephew Clifford Granbois, her adopted sisters Tonya “Taco” Lambert and Melissa “MJ” Mitchell, her adopted brothers Jeremiah Medicine Elk and Delton “Duk” Brown.

We are filled with sorrow that we cannot list every single person who she called family, for her heart was big and there were many.  So much so, they could fill a book.  And to avoid hurting people we sadly cannot even attempt to try without forgetting someone.  But you will always and forever be loved by her.

Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left using the form below.
