Thank you Lord for Dear Mother

Into this world, Lord, you let mother give me life,
And given a name that was combined of man and his wife.
She loved and cared for me as a mother would,
Until after many years, her love I understood.

Lord, bless the hands that gently cared for me,
and her unselfishness, that we all could see.
Giving and sharing and teaching us how to grow,
She helped us to learn the things we needed to know.

She gave us strength when we were all so weak,
And her approval we never ceased to seek,
She filled our home with love and laughter,
and fulfilled our needs and our looking after.

She listened to our troubles and childish fears,
then struggled to raise us through youthful years.
Yet as the years go by and we’ve all grown old,
we know that her heart was made of gold.

Keep our memories safe, Lord, within our hearts,
Of how our lives began and from where it starts.
Be merciful, Lord, with our dear mother,
For we love her greatly, for there is no other than our dear mother!
