Isabelle “Izzy” Youngman, “Carry the Water”, our beloved mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and great gramma has left this world to be with our Creator and Heavenly father God on April 4, 2025.
Isabelle was born on April 19,1951 to Douglas Sr and Eva (IronRing) Youngman. She was the 7th oldest out of 11 siblings; her sisters Eloise, Wilma, Delores, Vicki, and Donna Youngman; brothers Cyril, Dewayne, Darrell, Tommy and Douglas Jr (Juanita) Youngman.
Izzy was raised by our auntie Florence Martell in Medicine Lake, MT until we were sent to boarding school in Perre, SD in 1963. After attending Pierre, she went to Flandreau boarding school and graduated in 1972. Izzy continued on with her education and went to college at Haskell and Dawson Community College where she graduated in 1976. After college Izzy went to work. She had many jobs in Wolf Point and Poplar. She made many friends working at Headstart, A&S Industries, Poplar schools and SBRRC, when she had to leave for medical reasons. Izzy loved working with children and started her own daycare with the Fort Peck tribes for about 2 years.
Izzy had adopted Francis Youngman in 1994. She has fostered and took care of many children in her life. Rasing her granddaughter Elizabeth Darnell.
Izzy will be missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her paternal grandparents, William Youngman, Sr. and Ruth Standing Bear Youngman; maternal grandparents, Santee IronRing and Virginia Counter; brothers Dewayne, Darrell and Thomas Sr; sisters Delores and Victoria; aunt Florence IronRing.
Izzy is survived by her son, Francis Youngman; brothers Cyril and Douglas Jr; sisters Eloise, Wilma and Donna.
