Ivan Lee ‘Ivy’ Broken Leg
Our loving “Ivy”…now rest in peace. Ivan Lee Broken Leg, age 39 of Brockton, MT, entered the Spirit World September 17, 2009, in Billings, Montana. Ivy was born to Velma and George Broken Leg on November 29, 1969 at the Poplar Community Hospital.
In his life he graduated from Brockton High School in 1989, worked for A&S Industries, went firefighting and root digging. Ivy resided in Poplar, MT but was always in Brockton visiting and hanging out with friends and relatives. His favorite football team was the Denver Broncos, whom he had a chance to go see play in Denver and he would reminisce about that. In high school he played basketball for the Brockton Warriors so he was a devoted Brockton Warrior fan and always seemed to brag them up.
Ivy enjoyed shooting pool, throwing horseshoes, playing cards, reading, and playing softball until he was unable to due to health conditions.
Our Ivy was stubborn at times, but in his heart he had a kindness that touched so many many lives of those who knew him. He loved to visit people and make new friends, joke around, laugh and hang out with his cousins who he called his “Brother”. We will miss his smile and his chuckled laugh; but we will always keep his memory alive in our hearts.
Ivy is survived by his dad, George Broken Leg of HotSprings, S.D.; sisters, Darla (Curtis) Broken Leg and Debbie (Myron) Uses Arrow, both of Mobridge, S.D.; a brother, Eugene Longee of Poplar, MT; Nieces, Elllyn Leigh Broken Leg of Mobridge, S.D., Maureen (Bruce) Nordwick of Poplar; a nephew, Dominique Buckles of Ft. Kipp; aunts Linda (snow) Rattling Thunder of Riverside, MT, Arletta Black Dog of Brockton, MT; grandmother, Loretta Bear Cub of Ft. Kipp, MT and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
