Jacob Andrew Shoots Jr. started his journey on March 17th 2025 in Poplar Mt. Jacob was born on November 11th, 1951 to Jacob Shoots Sr and Marian Left Hand Thunder-Shoots. He attended school in Brockton, Mt, he was active in basketball and track. While living on the badlands in Brockton, He enjoyed riding horses and had his own horse, he named Socky Boy, with sibling and cousins, he roamed all over the badlands and went sliding down on all the big hills. He enjoyed going hunting with his dad when he was younger. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1969 and then went on to work at the West Electronics, then the A&S industries back when they were manufacturing guns for the army. He lived in Poplar. Montana then moved to Moline. Illinois, where he worked as a welder and took up Tae Kwon Do. He then returned to Poplar and attended the NAES Community College then the Fort Peck Community College and graduated with an AA degree in Education. He started working at the Fort Peck Commodities Building until he retired in late 2000s. He lived in Poplar, then later in life moved to a Wolf Point. He is the fourth of eight children born to Jacob Sr and Marian. His siblings are and were. Elvera, Rose Marie. Virgil Charles. Isabelle, Alice, Angeline and Hattie. To family and friends, he was know as "Boopy", he loved to cruise and spend time with his friends, Sly & Patti, Jakey Martin, Tony Jones and several others, who are too numerous to mention. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews as well his grandchildren. He was an avid artist. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, the Enquire and working on puzzles, watching good old western movies or a good spooky movie. His passion was working on his trucks and always made sure they were running good. He enjoyed fishing and swimming with his friends, and siblings. We will miss him tremendously and will always think of the fun times we had with our brother, uncle, grandpa and most of all friend.

He survived by his sisters, Isabelle Shoots and Alice (Shoots) Aguilar, nieces Janene Padilla, and Esley Sherman, Johnette and Marian Walking Eagle and nephew, Darwin Melbourne, and  grandchildren, Shane, Kyyen, Leena , Keenen, Carlus, Colin, Bret, Marion, Dewayne Jr, Demarko, Eithan and Jonthan, Ameera, Jerome, Shoni Royce and great grandchildren.

He proceeds in death by his maternal grandparents, Jacob left Hand Thunder and Alice Davis Left Hand Thunder and paternal grandparents, Andrew (Conica) Shoots and Louise Sharp Horn Bull-Shoots and grandfathers John Left Hand Thunder, Robert left hand Thunder. Phillip Left Hand Thunder, Richard Left Hand Thunder. His sisters, Elvera, Rosemarie, Angeline, Hattie and brother Virgil Charles Shoots, nieces, Bernetta Rose Walking Eagle and Latoya Lee Walking Eagle, nephews Dewayne Shoots Sr, Elias and Jeffery Walking Eagle and Darren Melbourne.
