James Allison DeMarrias, “Bro James” age 47, of Poplar, MT passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 in Poplar.
James was born on August 24, 1965 to McGeorge DeMarrias, Sr. and Rita Louise Youngman in Poplar. In his younger years he went to school in many different towns and then we went to live with his dad in Los Angeles, CA until his seventh grade. The family then moved back to Fort Kipp, MT and James attended school in Culbertson, MT for a while before transferring to Brockton school, where he graduated.
After graduation, James enlisted in the Army and he was station at Ft. Ord, CA until he was honorably discharged. Upon leaving the Army, James moved back to Fort Kipp and started working at A&S Industries in Poplar and it was during this time that he met Betty Martell and together they had Jasmine and Deven DeMarrias.
James later met and married Dreamis Eagle Boy and raised her daughter, Pearl, as his own, and continued after their divorce. James went back to school and got his CDL and worked two years for the I.R.R. and one summer with the crews working on Highway 2.
James loved to cruise around and listen to music, as well as visit his many friends, who called him “Bro James”. He was very proud of his children, Deven and Jasmine during the time they were in boxing. Another one of his pastimes was watching his brothers play pool.
James was preceded in death by his father, George DeMarrias; brother, Keifer Foote; sister, Laura Foote; uncles, Abe David DeMarrias, Larry Youngman, Bill Youngman, Jr., Douglas Youngman, Sr.; aunts, Margaret Adams, Christine Youngman Lizotte, Nettie Youngman, Josephine Youngman Youpee.
James is survived by his children, Pearl DeMarrias, Jasmine DeMarrias and Deven Ray DeMarrias all of Poplar; grandsons, Grayson Alexander and Dalton Ezekial, both of Poplar; mother, Rita Long Chase of Poplar; brothers, Albert Foote, Sr., Frank DeMarrias, George DeMarrias, Jr., and Virgil “Pete” Red Tomahawk all of Poplar; sisters, Cheyenne Foote, Georgia Yellow Hawk, Denise DeMarrias, and Imogene Lilly all of Poplar; aunts, Ethlene DeMarrias and family, Florence Eagleman and family, and Myrna Charbonneau and family all of Poplar; and uncles, Mike Youngman, and Casper DeMarrias both of Poplar. James also had a special friend, Ronette Red Boy of Poplar, who he was very close with throughout the years.
Due to the large family we are very sorry for some of the relatives that we left out, we love you all but it’s been hectic.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Friday, March 22 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Fort Kipp Cemetery.
