James T Doney age 80 passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point. James was born on February 12, 1935 to Tom & Rose Doney.
James joined the Army Aircore and was in the Panamanian Police Action, He was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He came home and went to the GEER Tech in Illinois for Heavy Equipment School. James returned home after college and met the love of his life Martha Ohlson and was married at the ST. Joseph Catholic Church. To this union they had 2 sons Paul Doney and Michael Doney. After Martha passed away he then met his soul mate Sandra Svenningson.
James farmed and ranched on his family homestead for over 40 years.
James is survived by his soul mate Sandra, sons Paul (Wendy) Doney of Wiota, Mike (Celina) Doney of Wiota, step children Deb (Josh) Kuryn of Lignite ND, Margie (Gary) Greenwood of Shelby and Todd (Kandi) Svenningson of Glasgow along with numerous grandchildren. Sisters Cheryl Barnhart of Lander WY, Frances Bighorn of Poplar and Brother John Doney of Wiota, Brother In-laws Sam (Nancy) Ohlson, Otto (Betty) of White Sulphur Springs.
James was proceeded in death by his wife Martha, parents Tom and Rose Doney and Sister Mary Alice Redman.
Services will be on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Frazer.
