Jamie Red Thunder, 53, of Poplar, MT passed away on October 3, 2023. Jamie was born on July 22, 1970 in Poplar, MT to Linda Redboy and John Red Thunder, Sr.
Jamie lived in Poplar most of her life but also lived in Canada and Brockton in her younger years. She also went to Chemawa her freshman and sophomore year ’85-’86. While she was in Chemawa she played basketball, her sister Johnny was her biggest fan.
She was also a champion traditional dancer while she lived in Canada. After she was home from Chemawa she started dating Clarence FastHorse, Sr and they had 5 kids to this union. She went firefighting in ’94, volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club, she worked in the Poplar school’s kitchen, a home health worker for a long time and Sidney Sugars.
Her hobbies included playing bingo/Keno, cruising, hanging out with her kids and friends and loved playing with her grandkids when she could.
She is survived by her children, Clarence (Cindy) FastHorse, Jr., Teaira FastHorse, Kaine and Kassius FastHorse all of Poplar; sister Johnelle Red Thunder; brother Kevin Devereaux; grandkids Blake Follet of Poplar, Cadyn, Kaleb and Attias Bear of Poplar, Catherine and Betty Bear of Wolf Point, Kade, Braxton and Kaine Jr., Aceonna FastHorse and Evelyn Iron Bear. She took so many people in and adopted them. Sadly, it’s too many to mention or remember at this time.
She is preceded in death by her son Mathias FastHorse; her parents Linda Redboy and John Red Thunder, Sr.; sisters Grace and Colleen Devereaux; brothers Thunder Red thunder and Kenneth Devereaux; adopted mom Merle Hapa.
