Jay Douglas, our handsome son and grandson, was born to Denise and Doug Grandchamp on October 9, 1991. He tragically passed away on the evening of Monday, February 29, 2016. He was 24 years old.
Jay was baptized, received his First Communion and Confirmation at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. He grew up and attended schools in Poplar and Frontier. During his short life, Jay was employed by the Fort Peck Rural Water Supply Program, Fort Peck Tribes Natural Resources Program where he worked alongside of his dad. He also worked for Culbertson Plumbing and Air and with the Fort Peck Housing Authority for 2 summers.
Jay loved spending time fishing in the summers, playing video games with his cousin DJ, visiting with family, and hanging out with his friends when he would make it in to town.
Jay is survived by his three daughters, Johnnie, Joshelle, and Allie; his mom, Denise; dad, Doug (Willow); brothers, Adam, Doug Jr., and Jesse; sisters, Tina (Michael) and Honey; grandmothers, Trivian Grainger, Janice (Woody) White Eagle-Johnson, Marquieta (Tom) Colgan, Margie (Jeff) Stump, Marilee Buckles, Sheila Greybull and Florence White Eagle; grandfathers, Ronnie Grainger, Maynard Blackdog, and Morris Buckles; aunts, Dawn Grainger, Susie Perry, Jo Ellen Grandchamp, Peggy Martin, Shelley Johnston, and Leah Grandchamp; uncles, David Grainger, Daniel Grainger, Robin Perry, Dale Grandchamp, and James Grandchamp; special cousins, Jordan (Dale) Grainger, DJ Grainger, Gavyn Grainger, and Ashton Grainger; his longtime sitter/second mom, Judy Strauser; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jay’s extended families include the White Eagles, Boxers, Perrys, Smiths, and Bauers.
Preceding him in death were his grandpas, Howard “Buddy” Grainger, Dusette Grandchamp, Thurman White Eagle; grandmas, Barbara Grandchamp, Mona Blackdog, Annette Boxer, and Bonnie “Chickie” Weinberger.
