Joel Aaron Lemke “Chief”, age 51, of Wolf Point, MT passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at his residence in Wolf Point.
Joel was born on August 25, 1962 to Carol Wing Smith Lemke and Ralph Mann in Wolf Point. He attended school in Wolf Point and after graduation he joined the Army.
Joel was a jack of all trades; he was a diesel and gas mechanic, carpenter, iron worker, and a chef. He was self-employed with Eagle Hunter Construction.
Joel loved his family. He always had a smile on his face. He was adventurous and a daredevil. He wasn’t afraid to try new things. He lived his life the way he wanted and if things didn’t work out, he would say “it is what it is” and move on.
Joel is off on his next adventure with nobody to restrict him.
He is survived by his sisters, Vina “Cookie” Smith of Poplar and Janet Davison (Bob) of Fairbanks, AK; brothers, Eddie “Eds” Smith of Wolf Point and Dale Smith (Nancy) of Albuquerque, NM; and 7 children, Levi Lemke, Mary Lemke, Sara Lemke, Summer Lemke, and Lacey Lemke all of Colorado, and twin girls of Nevada.
Joel is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Lemke; father, Ralph Mann; grandmother, Charity Wing; and brother, Leonard (Nicky) Lemke.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
