John Douglas Pipe, age 49, of Wolf Point, MT passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at NEMHS Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
John was born in Wolf Point to Joanne Carrie Stafne Pipe and Myron William “Buddy” Pipe on July 27, 1960. He graduated from Wolf Point High in 1978.
John spent all of his life in Wolf Point except when he received his Chef Certification from Billings VoTech. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from Fort Peck Community College.
On September 12, 1986 John married Shelly DuMarce Pipe in Wolf Point. He worked for Fort Peck Tribes and was a Tribal Executive Board member for 12 years. John was an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Tribes, a member of A.D.A. the American Diabetes Association and of the National Diabetes Indian Coalition (NDIC). He enjoyed traveling, all sports games, music, hanging out with his grandson and he enjoyed family gatherings and socializing with everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shelly Pipe; daughter, Johnelle Pipe, son, Myron “Buddy” Pipe III and daughter Heaven-Lee Pipe, all of Wolf Point, MT; three sisters, Anna Marie Pipe, Jackie Lee (Coke) Chase and Myra Grace Pipe of Wolf Point, MT and one brother Alfred (Kris) Pipe of Wolf Point, MT and his grandson, Ethan Blount of Wolf Point, MT. He is also survived by his extended family the Medicine Cloud family, Rusty Stafne family, Joy Martin family, Herman Pipe family, Helen Pipe family and numerous nieces, nephews and grandkids.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Joanne Pipe, a grandmother Annie Hancock, paternal grandparents, Jack & Elaine (Red Elk) Pipe, maternal grandparents John & Josephine Stafne, a brother Myron “Billy” Pipe, Uncle Gary Medicine Cloud and two lifelong friends, Ronnie Garfield and Kevin “Cabbage” Bushman.
Visitation from 5-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 will be held at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, MT. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Wolf Point, High School Gymnasioum with interment at Kings Memorial Cemetery, Wolf Point, MT.
