John Nelson Grandchamp III, age 22, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 18, 2019. John was born on May 17, 1997 to John Grandchamp, Jr. and Erika Smail in Wolf Point, MT.
John attended various schools in Wahpeton and Chemawa, Poplar and Wolf Point, he graduated from Frazer High School. He enjoyed cross country throughout his school years. He worked at Albertson’s and recently was employed as a certified flagger, working on the roads with his grandma Linda and Aunty Patsy.
He loved to hunt and fish with his Dad and grandpa John. Spending time with family was important to John, he was very close to his grandparents John and Linda, and his special nephew Aspyn. John had a way of making people laugh, turning a serious situation into a funny one even at his own expense. He strongly believed in the Lord Jesus.
John is preceded in death by his great grandparents Alfred (Rose) Grandchamp and Harry (Lillian) Beauchamp; his grandma Joyce Smail; uncle Thomas Smail, Jr and cousin Stephanie Stump.
He is survived by his parents John Grandchamp, Jr (Heather) and Erika Smail; grandparents Thomas Smail, Sr., John (Linda) Grandchamp; siblings Kylin, Presley, Kalvin, Lake and Ily Grandchamp; aunts Tracy Knowlton, Patsy (Mike) Martell, Cora (Pat) Jackson, Alana (Al) Imus and Rosie Grandchamp; special nephew Aspyn Solberg; cousins Adrian and Andrew Imus, Isiah Dionee, Natasha Knowlton, Richard Knowlton, Bree Jackson, Jayden Jackson, Raven Jackson, Raire Jackson, Tanager Jackson, Steve Stump and Dustin Grandchamp.
He will always be remembered for his name “McLovin”. Till we meet again…
