John Slater Reum, “Chanumba Ishnana – Lone Pipe” was born June 7 th , 1979 to Clayton and Donna K (Leibrand) Reum along with his little twin brother, James Patrick, in Wolf Point, MT.
Family was extremely important to John. He was very close with his brothers, Jim and Marty. He always had open arms for his sisters, Angie and Holly. John was a very special nephew to all his aunts and uncles and holds a very special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews.
John graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1997. He grew up on the south side of Wolf Point and met his 2 lifelong brothers, Luke and JJ Pedersen. The neighborhood would remember them as the Ninja Turtles. Through the years he would form many more close bonds with friends, too many to mention (but you know who you are and that you were loved by him).
A daughter Charlotte Katherine was born June 24 th , 2009 and was the light of John’s life. He met the love of his life, Jamie Daun affectionately known as his “Chubbie Barbie” in 2009. They were joined in marriage July 21, 2012. The love they had for one another was out of this universe. He loved her 3 children, Ashlee (Nelson) Lambirth, Layne Nelson, and Tyson Nelson as his own. He was a proud grandpa to Ashlee’s children, Brooklyn, and Brantley.
John had a smile for everyone he met and loved making people laugh. He could match his father-in-law’s (Bob Baker) corny jokes, joke for joke. He had a passion for anything with wheels and an engine. This is evident looking at his yard.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Hilda Leibrand; his dad’s twin brother, Leighton Reum; cousin, Finley Leibrand, October Perez Arndt; mother-in-law, Pat Baker; and Jamie’s grandmother, Lilly Baker.
He leaves behind wife, Jamie Reum; children, Charlotte Reum, Ashlee (James) Lambirth, and her children, Brooklyn and Brantley, Layne Nelson (Ashley Dodge) and Tyson Nelson; his parents, Clayton and Donna K. Reum; brothers, Martel Reum, and Jim Reum; sisters, Angie (Brian) Healy and Holly Reum; father-in-law, Bob Baker; brothers-in-law, Jason Baker, and Rob (Andrea) Baker; and sister-in-law, Trisha (Jason) Payer; his four legged children, Rocko, Sassy, Foster, Clover, and Katnis Everreum; numerous special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and foster siblings he loved dearly; and lastly numerous close friends he considered family.
He had an incredible love for animals and through the years found and gave many a loving home. John was a big supporter of the Wolf Point Pound Puppies. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to them in his honor.
