Jonna Lynn Spotted Bird passed away on July 30, 2016 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. Jonna was born on July 21, 1985 to Royce John Spotted Bird, Sr. and Junia Walking Eagle-Jones. She also had a step-mother, Jackie B. Spotted Bird and a step-father, Wayne Jones. Jonna had a life long companion, Franklin Jones and from this union they had 3 children, Misty Dawn Strikes Many, Frank J. Jones and MacKenzie Jones.
Jonna attended elementary school in Brockton and Poplar, MT. She attended Junior High School in Billings, MT and High School in Poplar, MT. Jonna held various jobs throughout her life which included jobs at the Indian Health Service in the Mental Health and Optometry Departments. She also worked as a home health worker for Gene and Nola Culbertson.
Jonna loved spending time with her children, always doing crafts, playing dress up, letting them fix her hair and playing games. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, siblings, step siblings and all her nieces and nephews. She loved listening to music and dancing when the right song came on. Jonna loved telling jokes and could put a smile on anyone’s face.
Jonna’s great sense of humor, smile and laughter will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor of being a part of her life.
Jonna is survived by her children Misty Dawn, Frank and MacKenzie as well as her long companion Franklin Jones. She is also survived by her parents, Royce John (Jackie) Spotted Bird and Junia (Wayne) Walking Eagle-Jones. Jonna is survived by her sisters Janis Spotted Bird, Jackie P. Spotted Bird, Catherine (Ben) Brien and step-sister Kristen Big Leggins, also Angie Wallowing Bull and Brittany Whiteman, whom she took as sisters; her brothers Royce Spotted Bird, Jr., Dwain Spotted Bird, Rodney J. Drum and step-brothers Mark and Michael McClammy. Jonna took cousins Eddy Walking Eagle, Kelly Walking Eagle, Benji Walking Eagle, Emmett Buckles, Walkin Brown and Tony Demarrias as brothers. She is survived by grandparents; Catherine Spotted Bird, Leland and Doris Spotted Bird, Arthur GreyBull, Jr. (Merle) and George, Carole Wetsit and Helen Ricker; Aunts Debbie Walking Eagle, Patsy (Bud) TwoBulls, Mildred Salveson, Dreamis Eagle Boy and special Aunt Pauline Boxer, Lorna Drum, Charlene Drum, Candace Spotted Bird, Larissa Spotted Bird, mary Drum-Savior, Verdis GreyBull, Anna and Marie Drum of Lake Huvusa, NM; uncles Donald Walking Eagle, Jr., George (Beverly) Walking Eagle, Alfred Walking Eagle, Sr., Silas J. Drum, Sonny Bear, Chuck Spotted Bird, Richard GreyBull, Joel (Sweet Pea) GreyBull; grandparents Danny (Sue) Martell. She is also survived by numerous cousin’s nieces and nephews.
Jonna is going to join her deceased grandparents, Gary Drum, Donald and Ida Walking Eagle, Viola Spotted Bird, Carole Spotted Bird, Melvin White Bear, Josephine Black Dog, Allen Gene Drum, Neil Drum, Mildred Ricker and Faye Ricker-Crowe; step sister Sherry McClammy; aunts Kathleen (Tiny) Ricker, Irene Walking Eagle, Brenda Drum Stormy and Janice Dee Spotted Bird; niece Jenna D. Spotted Bird and cousins Claytina Whiteman, John LaSarte, Jr., Travis SAlveson and Vanessa TwoBulls.
Extended families include, Dupree, Ricker, Eagles, EagleBoy, Daniels, Reddogs, Scotts, Menz, Denny, Young Bear, Half Reds, Fast Horse, War Clubs, CrazyBulls, Bears, FourBears, Big Leggins, GrayHawk, Lambert, Bearcubs and Russell.
She had a large family, we are very sorry if we missed anyone.
