Joseph Calvin Burshia

Joseph Calvin Burshia, age 56, of Tacoma, Washington passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Tacoma General Hospital.
Joseph was born in Poplar, MT on November, 26, 1952 to Minnie Roughsurface and Daniel Burshia.
Joey idolized members of the Armed Forces so his mother consented to him entering the US Army early. He served in the US Army from 1971-1974, at Fort Lewis, WA and Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He worked for various Northwest tribes, most recently as Gaming Technician. Joseph has been married to Laura “Lori” L. Burshia for the past 18 years.
Joseph loved sports, hunting, fishing and traveling; he loved motorcycles and was a member of a rock band.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Laura of the family home; mother, Minnie Tedrow of Billings, MT; his daughter, Christina Burshia of Portland OR and his son, Aaron Burshia of Portland, OR; siblings Ben Burshia of Woodbridge, VA, Orville Burshia of San Carlos, AZ, Dani Burshia of Billings, MT, Davetta Patman of Las Vegas, NV, Miles Burshia of Hardin, Mt, Lisa Burshia of Billings, MT, Patricia Burshia of Billings, MT, Lori Burshia of Billings, MT, Noel Burshia of Poplar, MT, Al Burshia of Shelby, Mt, William Burshia of Florence, CO, Henry Burshia of LasVegas, NV and Verne Burshia of Bowman, ND and two granddaughters, Sydrece Walker and Serenity Walker, both of Portland OR.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Noel “Sonny” Burshia Jr.; stepmother, Virginia Burshia; grandmother, Eleanor Kennedy and grandfather, Daniel Burshia Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday evening, May 22, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lindsey Memorial Presbyterian Church in Poplar. Cremation has taken place.
Inurnment will be at Poplar City Cemetery.
