June Greybull Hawk, age 63, of Poplar, MT went home to be with her lord and savior on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at NMHS Poplar Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1945 in Poplar to Tom Greybull Sr. and Annie (Killspotted) Greybull. She lived most of her life in the Poplar area. She graduated from Poplar High School, Fort Peck Community College, Billings Business College, United Tribes, and Central Indian Bible College. She worked for the Fort Peck Tribes and Poplar School until her illness.
She enjoyed going to the Poplar Indian basketball games. One of her favorite past times was getting involved in church activities and talking to people about the Lord. She also loved her cats. Her most recent blessing from the Lord was the adoption of Steve, Susan, Mikela, Alissa and Zach Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Greybull, Sr., mother, Annie (Killspotted) Greybull, brothers, Milo Greybull, Melvin (Shaw) Greybull, Tom Greybull, Sr., Matt Greybull, sisters, Sybil Garfield and Jerri Azure.
June is survived by her husband, Maynard Hawk of Poplar; son, Terrance Rocky Cooeyate of Poplar; step-daughter, Monelle Hawk of Poplar; adopted son, Steve Smith of Wolf Point, MT; sister, MaryAnn Greybull of Billings, MT; and all nephews, nieces and cuzs.
She will truly be missed by all, but she’s home with her Lord and Savior.
Her Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 and a Prayer Service Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. both at the Poplar Cultural Center. Pastor Steve Smith will officiate. Interment will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Poplar.
