Katerri “Terri” Fast Horse, age 47, of Poplar, MT passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Terri, the daughter of Melinda A. Shields and Michael M. Fast Horse, was born on August 16, 1966 in Poplar, MT. She attended school in Brockton. Teri had a good sense of humor and always had something to say to make you laugh. She liked to cook and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She liked to make calendars and picture frames with plastic canvas and yarn. She also liked to play machines, listen to music and hang out with her buddies.
She is survived by her mother, Melinda of Poplar; companion for many years, Allen “Juju” Boyd of Poplar; children, Erica (Dennis) Runs Above of Wolf Point, Floyd Runs Above, Jr. of Poplar, Natasha Fast Horse of Poplar and Alicia (Josh) Fast Horse of Brockton; grandchildren, Julian, Rayaunna, RayKira, Diamond, Payton, Ryder, Tyler, Destinee, Josiah, and Jalissa; sisters, Lucinda Fast Horse and Michelene Fast Horse of Wolf Point, and Cynthia Grey Bull of Billings; brothers, Michael (Sandy) Fast Horse, Gordon (Georgia) Fast Horse, John Fast Horse, Clarence (Jamie) Fast Horse all of Poplar; stepmother, Barbara Fast Horse; uncles, Julian (Veronica) Shields and Leonard Rattling Thunder, Sr.; aunts, Diane Martin, Sandra Birthmark, and Gloria Fast Horse; and cousins, Katherine Many Ribs, Cheryl Bearhill, Ronalene Chute, Lenny, Terry, Frenchie, Humbug and Dude Rattling Thunder.
Terri is preceded in death by her father, Michael Fast Horse, Sr.; brother, Arnold Fast Horse; nephews, Maynard “Tre” Longee III and Mathias “Whitey” Fast Horse; aunt, Bridget Fast Horse; uncles, John and Melvin Fast Horse; paternal grandparents, Helen Rattling Thunder and Britton Fast Horse; and maternal grandparents, Esther Buck Elk and Julian Shields, Sr.
A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at the Activity Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at the Activity Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Brockton. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
