Ken Clampitt

October 3, 1959 — March 8, 2025

Wolf Point

Ken Gregoy Clampitt, a loving brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2025.

Ken was born on October 3, 1959 to Frank and Joan Clampitt. He was the grandson of Charles and Mary Track and Fletcher and Frances Clampitt.

Ken was a very mischievous, loving child. He was always taking things apart to see how they were made. He kept his parents on their toes and his sibling’s childhood full of adventure.

He attended school in Frazer, and obtained his G.E.D. He attended Fort Peck Community College and graduated in 2008 with a truck driving and heavy equipment degree. Ken has always been a worker. He was a BIA firefighter for 19 years; he was a crew boss. Ken took crews out and fought fire in every state in the western half of the U.S. He was also sent to Texas to help with the recovery of the space shuttle Columbia in 2003. Ken worked for many farmers and ranchers including Butch Andresen. He held many different jobs in his lifetime, in construction, as a cook, A&S Industries, and in security. One of Ken’s favorite jobs was when he worked for Head Start. His latest job was as a custodian for the Wolf Point Schools; he held this job for 10 plus years and retired in 2023. Ken was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching all his nieces, nephews, and grandkids in all their endeavors; whether it be sports or academics. He was proud of them all.

Ken truly treasured all his family and friends. He loved family gatherings. Ken was one of the most generous caring people. He would always help out whenever he could. He would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back if he thought it would help. Loving, caring, compassionate, that was our Ken. He loved animals especially his loyal companion, Curly - whom he shared with Tyrus and Fern. Ken also loved his coffee and visiting sessions. Ken will be missed by all.

Ken is survived by his sister, Joan Todd; nieces, Alona, Tanya, Jenny, Renee (Willie), Jonas, Waynetta (Billie), Jammie (Eugene), Cassie (Skyler); nephews, Nathan, Frankie and Colby; his many grandkids including his sidekick, DeRay who always helped him and was always game for a cruise. He is also survived by many cousins and extended family in Missoula, MT and North Carolina; adopted brother, Tyrus (Fern) and his good friends, Punkie, Ruth, Rose (Bobbie), and Georgie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joan Clampitt; grandparents, Charles and Mary Track, Fletcher and Frances Clampitt; brothers, Frank and Charles; nephew, Roger; grandkids, Brayden and Callie; and his adopted brothers and partners in crime, Simon and Big Erv.

Sorry if we left anyone out, Ken had many family and friends whom he loved dearly.
