Our beloved, Kendra Lanee’ “Kenny” Bets His Medicine, was taken into the loving arms of Jesus on December 23, 2023.
Kenny was born on June 15, 1995, in Sidney, Montana, to Doyle Travis Bets His Medicine and the late Valarie Lynn Youpee. Kenny attended school in Culbertson, where she made many lifelong friends, including the teachers, and graduated in 2014.
Kenny had a great sense of humor and always had a ready smile for everyone. She had a reputation for being the most loving, caring, fun-loving person and could often be found joking around with her siblings and doing the latest tik-tok trend. Kenny was into a variety of sports but especially enjoyed playing softball in various tournaments with her family. When she wasn’t playing softball, she liked swimming, fishing, traveling, and playing volleyball.
Kenny started her professional career at Sidney Sugars Beet Factory, and later her career took her another direction when she was hired as a Corrections Officer for the Fort Peck Adult Corrections. Kenny found both jobs provided valuable experience and enjoyed working with the people she interacted with in the course of her day.
Kenny is survived by her father, Travis (Trish); her aunties, Ray, Theresa, Shash (Jim); her uncles, Dave (Tina) and Leslie; her siblings, Carlin, Ashton (Blaine), Rikki (DaeShanna), Auggi, Rayni, Brennon, Lucy, Shanna, Swann, Tray, Shante, and Jamaal; her friend Tahnee; her grandmas, Della Thomas, Lydia, and Ceya Long Hair (and family); nieces, Shonie and Neya; nephews, Eebz, Mu, Jaden, and Peyton, and Duran whom she called her son.
Kenny is preceded in death by her mother, Valerie; her paternal grandparents, Aurelia and Ray; her maternal grandfather, Lester.
Extended families include Jones, Half Red, Shaw, Summers, Drum, Buck Elk, Long Hair, Youpee, Stump, Black Dog, Rattling Thunder, Denny, Scott, and numerous close friends and co-workers. If we fail to mention anyone in this list, it wasn’t for lack of love and affection, Kenny was well loved by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A wake will be held on Friday, December 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the James Black Dog Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the James Black Dog Center.
