Kevin Dean First Jr was 27 years old, he left us in the early hours of Thursday, May 20th, 2021. He was born in Yankton, South Dakota on the 18th of March, 1994 to Patricia Kay Emery-First and Kevin First Sr. He attended High School in Poplar, where he graduated as well. Kevin was raised by his grandparents
Kevin always had a smile for everyone and anyone. Kevin was very friendly, fun-loving, and kind hearted. His laugh was infectious and never let anyone be sad around him. Kevin had the most beautiful soul and good heart, he would give the shirt off his back if he needed to. No matter what was happening he always find a reason to smile.
Kevin enjoyed listening to music, ranging from country to metal and many more. Kevin also loved socializing with friends, and made many friends. He was definitely a friendly and kind person, for he was a friend too many.He loved taking cruises, spending time with people. Sharing music with his siblings, as we had a tradition of going to Fort Peck Lake together during summer.
Kevin held many occupations, he first worked at Albertsons starting his working career. He was a certified welder and volunteered at the mission in poplar, Mt. He then worked with Sidney Sugars followed by fencing. He then took up farming where he branded cattle and moved hay bales . Kevin worked as a Laborer at CSP, cutting lawns, yard work, etc. Kevin also dabbled in carpentry.
He is survived by his grandparents, Jerome, Florence First. His father, Kevin First Sr. His brothers: Justin, Joshua, Jacob, and very dear sister, Grace Azure. Adopted brothers Jeremiah, Francis, Joseph, and Weylin. Aunties and Uncles, Kieth Randall, Inez “Dee”, Lynette Reddog, Calvin “Bear”, Ninette Hamilton, Monella “Auntie Moe” Hawk and Stan “The Man” Longtree, Christopher First, Eldon Denoyer, and Bruce. Cousins: Anthony “Bubs”, Adrienne “Hopsty”, Adrianne “Dozer” Mazawasicuna. Antoine Reddogg, Dion First, Taress First. Cara, Nicolas Horselooking, Kiana First. Many nieces and nephews he held very dear.
He is preceded in death by many grandpa’s and grandma’s. Including a very special Anita Emery, whom called him “Bdo Ska” With whom he was very close, Mother Patricia Kay. Very special uncles, Thomas “Tomahawk” First, Jeremy “Germs” Eagle, Auntie Shanna First. We are sorry if we forgot anyone included. Kevin may have left us but he will be in our hearts forever.
A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow the following day at St. Francis Cemetery in St. Francis, South Dakota. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences for the family can be left by using the form below.
