Larry Connor

September 19, 1956 — December 21, 2014

In the early morning hours of December 21, 2014, Larry was being comforted by his family members at NEMHS in Wolf Point where he lost his battle with cancer.

Larry Connor was born in Los Angeles, California at 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 1956.  He was the firstborn child and the first son of Joy (Shields) and Hank Connor.

Larry spent his younger years in California, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana.  He settled and made his home in Wolf Point.  He enjoyed spending much of his time out at the Stafne’s ranch, helping with brandings and farming.

Larry worked numerous jobs with the Fort Peck Tribes.  He enjoyed working outdoors which led to his many years working as a ranch hand.  Larry enjoyed attending rodeos, brandings, horseback riding, watching TV and movies, basketball, football, NASCAR, and especially his favorite; The History Channel.  He was a major fan of the “Pawn Star” marathons.  From the time Larry was a young boy he loved ‘tinkering’ with electrical gadgets.  He made a hot dog cooker and once found an old TV in the dumpster.  He brought it home and after many hours in his room he had that old TV working.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He loved when his daughter Lori Jo and son Chad would stop by for a visit.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda, his sisters Sabrina (Mark) Reese of Hobson, Danette (Joel) Baker of Queens, NY, and Twyla (Vince) Bearcub of Poplar; his brothers Tom Stafne of Wolf Point and Grant (Mary) Stafne of Frazer; his aunts, Sherry Shields, Roseanne Shields, and Sandy (Ken) Azure all of Wolf Point; his uncles, Caleb (Yvonne) Shields and Stoney (Julie) Anketell of Washington; his uncle A.T. “Rusty” Stafne and George “Fish” Redstone of Wolf Point; his sons Chad (Emmie) Connor and Dustin Connor of North Dakota and Tyrell “T.J.” Connor and Cody  (Vickie) White Bear of Wolf Point; his daughter Lori Jo (Doug) Rakstad of Poplar, Billie Jo (Charlie) Begay Swanson, and Fern Steele of Wolf Point; his grandchildren he raised, Josh and Holly Flaten; his grandchildren Taylor, Rachel, and Randi of Poplar; by Mary, Molly, Chad, Jr., Brandy, Brittany, and Del Rae, Dayton, and Logan of North Dakota, Kaiden, Kaleah, Sharon, Linda, Hailey, Hannah, Hudson of Wolf Point; great grandchildren, Roper, Ryder, Raider, Brooklyn, and Cayson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Larry loved you all.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandmothers Frances Smith and Ida Isham Connor; grandfather, Fred Shields; aunts, June Stafne and Shirley Redstone; and cousins, Kenny Azure, Jr., Pat Clements, Jr., and Antoinette Shields.

The family would like to thank Advanced Care Hospital of Billings for all the exceptional care.  The doctors and nurses and staff who treated Larry so special- Dr. Lyons, Mia, Kristi, caseworkers, care givers, Bec, Patty, Rosemary, Raynee, and Amy.

We all love you Larry, you will be truly missed but we know you are now walking the “streets of gold” with the Lord Jesus and the angels of Heaven.  Love ya Big Dad forever………..
