Lee Ann (Almon) Tande, 65, of Poplar, left us on January 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a hard fought battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church with a dinner immediately following.
Lee Ann was born in Ardmore, OK on January 26, 1951 to William “Jack” and Carol (Rutledge) Almon. She grew up in Ardmore and attended local schools. In 1986 Lee Ann received her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. She later received her M.A. in Reading from Walden University.
Lee Ann met Tommy Fox in college and they were married on June 13, 1970. They spent eleven years together and shared three children, Shannon, Keri and Geremy.
Lee Ann met Brad Tande in November 1985 and moved to Montana in June of 1986. Brad and Lee Ann married at their home on August 15, 1987. Lee Ann welcomed Brad’s sons Chris and Mike into her life. She and Brad share one daughter together, Jessica.
Lee Ann loved the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching and cheering them to victory with Brad. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren the MOST. Whether it was reading a book, playing a game, or watching them play sports, Lee Ann’s grandchildren were the center of her world.
Lee Ann began her teaching career at Mineral Bench and continued teaching at Poplar Elementary and Middle Schools for 28 years. She loved ALL of her students as if they were her own children and had a TRUE passion for education. She was a mentor teacher to many and enjoyed sharing her knowledge. Lee Ann retired in July 2014 after she was diagnosed with cancer.
Lee Ann is survived by her mother, Carol; husband of 28 years, Brad; daughters Shannon (Richard), Keri, Jessica (Ken); sons Geremy (Kimberly), Chris, Mike (Tami); grandchildren Austin, Ryan, Alexis, Hunter, Wilfred, Violet, Blake, Madison, Kylie, Mason, Gerrit, Hudson, Karlie; great grandson Kanicq; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 11 years, Tommy; her father William “Jack”.
