Leil B. Red Dog, age 47, of Wolf Point, MT passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. He was born June 17, 1964 in Wolf Point to Ervin and Bessie (Looking) Red Dog and attended schools in Wolf Point.
Leil worked various jobs throughout his life including: A&S Industries in Poplar, Albertsons in Wolf Point, CHR driver for IHS, and for Associated Cleaning.
Leil married Michelle Buckles in Fort Kipp, MT. To this union was born one daughter, Lana Red Dog. They were later divorced. He then married Earlene Red Lightening and to this union was born one daughter, Christy Red Dog. They were active members of the Blue Star Baptist Church. Earlene preceded Leil in death in 2001. Leil later had two sons with Shannon Corne, Leil Byron Red Dog, Jr. and Jaylen James Red Dog. Leil was a very devoted husband and father who loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
Leil had many friends, young and old. He liked to carve diamond willows and build furniture. From a young age, Leil enjoyed finding and fixing up all sorts of things. He liked to joke and make people laugh. He especially enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends. He liked to hunt and fish, and enjoyed attending wrestling and basketball games.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene; his parents, Ervin and Bessie; four brothers, Alan, Larry, Vernon and Randy; and two sisters, Annette and Alison.
Leil is survived by his children, Lana Red Dog and Christy Red Dog both of Poplar, MT, Leil Byron Red Dog, Jr. and Jaylen James Red Dog both of Wolf Point; grandson, Xhiaden Red Dog of Poplar; granddaughters, Peyton and Paige Gray Hawk of Poplar; sisters, Ann (Bob) Saindon and Bernadine (Lyle Morrison) Red Dog all of Wolf Point; brothers, John (Leann) Red Dog, Kyle (Dee Anne) Red Dog and Chris Red Dog all of Wolf Point; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Friday, January 13 at the Community Hall in Wolf Point. His Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14 also at the Community Hall in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the King Memorial Cemetery in Wolf Point.
