Lenard Jay Kirk
Our beloved Lenard Jay Kirk, age 46, of Poplar, MT left this world on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Poplar Hospital in Poplar, MT.
Jay was born June 25, 1962 to Cornelius S. Kirk and Wanda Lori IronLeggins in Poplar, MT.
Jay spent most of this life in Poplar attending elementary, junior high and high schools. Later he received his GED in 1987 from the Minnesota Department of Education and was certified in cooking with the State of Minnesota.
Jay enjoyed cooking, playing basketball, beading, fishing, playing with his grandchildren and visiting with friends and relatives. He was known for his sense of humor and teasing. He will be missed deeply.
On January 4, 2007 Jay married Sharon J. Running Bear; they had been together since 2004.
Lenard is survived by his wife, Sharon J. Kirk; his children, Paticia Kirk and grandsons, Dylan Kirk and Nicholas Corne all of Poplar, MT, Bryce Kirk of Browning, MT, stepsons Mathias Blackhoop and Mato Blackhoop of
and a stepdaughter Lindy Redwood; six brothers, Howard Kirk of Minneapolis, MN, Ira Kirk of New York City, NY, Cornelius Kirk, Jr. of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Cornell Kirk of Ft. Totten, ND, Videll Kirk of Sisseton, SD and Charles (Ted) Kirk of Poplar, MT and five sisters, Camile Cloud of Poplar, MT, Reba Jo Kirk of Poplar, MT, Vanessa Kirk of Sisseton, SD, Charlene Kirk of Texas and Rebecca Cloud of Omaha, NE.
