Lila Muriel Aho 92 Of Wolf Point Mt

February 4, 1921 — January 31, 2014

Lila Muriel (Koski) Aho, age 92, of Wolf Point, MT passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point.
Lila was born in Eveleth, MN on February 4, 1921 to Eino and Jennie (Makela)
Koski. She graduated from Cotton High School in 1938.  She was very athletic being involved in the girls’ basketball team.  Lila married Toivo Richard Aho on August 12, 1939 in Eveleth. Together, they moved to West Yellowstone, MT, in 1941 and then to Butte until 1944.  Toivo worked in the Butte mines while Lila worked in her cousin’s Boarding House restaurant up by the Butte mines.  In December 1944, her husband went into the Army. Then they moved to West Yellowstone where Toivo built their first home and lived there until 1978. When logging shut down, Lila and her husband sold their home in West Yellowstone and purchased a home in Bozeman, MT where they lived until 1984. After that year, they moved to Aurora,MN, and bought a small farm.  Her husband, Toivo, passed away in 1987, so Lila moved to live with her daughter, Sharon, in Wolf Point, MT.
Lila was partners with her mother in Doc’s Café in West Yellowstone until 1947; then she and her
husband purchased Park Motors (a full-service garage). They remained in that business until 1960. Since then, she was the main bookkeeper for Ericson and Son’s (logging company) from 1965 to 1969; head housekeeper at Three Bear Lodge for 13 years and the Executive Inn until she was hit by a stroke in 1974.
Lila was an avid reader, kept current on the news, loved to bake, and enjoyed having friends and family stop by to share in her Finnish pasties and pastries, to listen to her Finnish stories and to share laughter. Some of her daily pastimes were watching the Young and the Restless, listening to
Fox News, listening to the morning Sunday gospel oldies, and retiring in the night listening to Michael Savage (The Savage Nation) and the evening talks shows.  During summer months, she would watch her grandsons play baseball and the Minnesota Twins!   She was always optimistic and unconditional and valued family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 15, 1987; son,Richard Lee Aho, on April 14, 1990; special niece, Jodie Koski; and a brother, Ellert Eino Koski.  She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Louise (Aho) Kolstad of Wolf Point,  MT; Dr. Jon Kolstad and family in Glasgow, MT; Dr. Jim
Kolstad and family in Lewistown, MT; Bryan Lee Aho of Michigan; Kristen Marie Anders (Aho) Garcia

of Fernley, NV; and eight great grandchildren.
At her personal request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.  Her ashes will be scattered this Spring at a favorite hunting spot in West Yellowstones, MT.
