Linda M.Clark (Tashina Kne Knega Wiya “Spotted Blanket Woman”), age 52, of Wolf Point, Montana passed away on February 10, 2008 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Linda was born in Wolf Point on October 9, 1955 to Calvin Clark, Sr. and Belva Brown. She grew up and attended schools in Wolf Point, San Francisco, California, Lakewood, Washington and Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon. She graduated with a business certificate from United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota. Linda married Manuel Figueroa on May 28, 1995 in Wolf Point.
Linda loved taking care of people. She opened her home to many and fed and clothed those who were homeless and hungry. She lived the life of the “Good Samaritan.” She attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was also a member of the Medicine Lodge Society.
Linda was preceded in death by her children, Bobbi Jo, Leslie Marie, Joshua, Eagle, Sunni and Sunburst; mother, Belva LaRoque; special father, William “Weezie” LaRoque; father, Calvin Clark; and brothers, Roland Clark and Rusty Jackson.
Linda is survived by her husband, Manuel Figueroa; daughter, Lori Friedenbach of Lincoln, Montana; granddaughter, Kayla D. Hileman and grandson, Dakota Hileman, both of Lincoln; four brothers, Calvin Clark, Jr., Mitchell Clark, Sr. , both of Wolf Point, Gerald “Bootsie” Jackson of Poplar, Montana and Ronald Jackson of Wolf Point; and seven sisters, Judy (Cayin) Rodriquez of Gary, Indiana, Coleen Clark, Ethel “Pie” Jackson, Terry Smith, all of Wolf Point, Helen (Fred) Bighorn of Fort Kipp, Montana, Patty (Butch) McGeshick of Wolf Point and Toni (Tony) Plummer-Alvernez of Glasgow, Montana, and adopted daughters, Irene Bighorn of Poplar and Cheryl Pond of Wolf Point; the Clark Family (scattered) and the Lucky Family (scattered).
With love she came, with love she left.
A Prayer Service will at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Wadopana Chief, Joe Miller, will officiate. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 also at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Officiated by Rev. Fr. Steve Zabrocki. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer.
