Llewellyn James Eagle, 67 of Wolf Point, Mt. passed away peacefully on the afternoon of June 4, 2021 at the Billings Clinic due to health conditions he has been battling.
Lew was born in Poplar, Mt. on June 24, 1953 to Geraldine Eagle but was raised by his grandparents Frank and Mary Eagle. He attended school in Poplar and also had attended Job Corp until he moved to California. He spent his teen years living in Newark, Fresno and Hayward Ca. While residing in California he worked in Sacramento and the Bay area as a certified welder and also a mechanic. In 1985 he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and later returned to Mt. to be near his family. Prior to moving to California, he met Evelyn Hernandez in 1974 and from this union his son Joel was born. After he returned to Montana, he met Shelly Porras in 1991 and from this union came Cassandra “Sandy” and Llewellyn Jr. He raised Lisa Marie on his own.
In His younger years he enjoyed giving mechanical advice and working on cars, digging turnips/ roots, going fishing and cruising. He had the best cooking skills and was locally “famous” for his homemade salsa and chili. Lew had a crazy sense of humor always joking and laughing. Some of his favorite TV shows were Maury and Steve Wilkos. His favorite of all was watching Nascar races, football and basketball. Some of his favorite teams include the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and of course the Philadelphia EAGLES. He would make abets on the game with the pipestem’s or whoever stopped up to Pumpkin Hill to visit. He spent the last few years of his life sitting on the couch watching his pride and joy “Rosie” and his grandson LewAnthony playing outside. We will always hold on to the good memories of “Lew Blue” enjoying his “ICE cold Brews” while smoking his full flavor cigarettes.
He is survived by his son Joel C. Adams (Jennifer – grandchildren Shoshonne, Jacy, Miles and Kai) of Spokane Wa. Cassandra “Sandy” (Ivan), Llewellyn Jr. “BobaLew” (grandchildren Serenity Rose and LewAnthony), and Lisa Marie Eagle of Wolf Point, Mt. Aunt Nellie “Sally” Sood of Oakland Ca. Nephews: Curtis J. Forrest (Children Sean, Dane, Alayah, Kailei) of Bismarck, Nd., Jordan Forrest (RaShane – children Mia and Jordan Jr.) Niece: Theresa Forrest (Terrence – children Kobe, Kat, Trenton) of Wolf Point, MT., Special Nephews; Fred and Jon Cantrell, Curtis Buckles, Dorrance, Arron and Victor Grant, Dylan Vivier. Lew is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Eder, sisters; Edna R. Eagle, Kathleen Eagle-Forrest and a brother Raymond Messelt; Aunts; Alvira “Rosie”, Marlene, Darlene, Marie Eagle, Uncles; Paul Grant, Frank Jr., Melvin and Alvin Eagle, John Longee, Grandparents Framk and Mary Eagle.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, Montana. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, Montana. Interment will follow at the Riverside Catholic Cemetery, south of Brockton, Montana. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences for the family can be left by using the form below.
