Lowell James Boyd, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Lowell “Buddy” was born January 15, 1949 to Lewis Allison Boyd and Loetta Denny Boyd in Poplar, MT.
Buddy attended school in Brockton, MT and graduated May 1968. He went on to vocational school at the Greer Technical Institute in Chicago, IL and received an AA in automotives in May 1969. Buddy was drafted into the United States Marine Corps December 1969. He later attended Fort Peck Community College in 1988 studying computers. Buddy was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in many capacities from 1979-1994.
Buddy met the love of his life, Linda Marie Longee at the age of 29 at the Fort Peck Celebration. They married on December 21, 1970 at the Baptist Church in Poplar. With this union a son Lowell Jr was born in 1971 and a daughter Sherry in 1976.
Buddy and Linda enjoyed teasing each other and gardening. He enjoyed working long hours on his latch hooks and collecting coins. Buddy enjoyed old war movies, westerns, Law & Order SVU and Days of Our Lives. He adored all of his grandchildren and spending time with them.
Buddy is survived by his son Lowell Jr (Suzanne) and daughter Sherry Cantrell; granddaughters Taylor (Antoine), Nikki (Carlus), Brooke (James) and Payton Klinger; grandsons Jesse Boyd and Caleb Klinger; great grandchildren Royalty and Stetson all of Poplar; brothers Jonathan, David, Mike and Llewellyn Boyd and baby sister Debbie Colgan.
Buddy is preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers Bobby and Vernon.
Buddy can now rest in peace. He was tired of suffering and was ready to reunite with his beloved Linda. They can now rejoice in Heaven together.
