On Friday, August 25, 2014 our sister, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home. Lynn Jackson was born in Wolf Point, MT, January 29, 1956, the fifth daughter of Gladys Standing Jackson and Joe Andrew Jackson of Oswego, MT.
Lynn attended school in Wolf Point and Frazer High School. She earned two associate degrees at Fort Peck Community College.
Lynn worked many jobs. She was a secretary for BIA Roads. She was head start bus driver. Then she went to work for Fort Peck Housing Authority where she was the Resident Counselor Supervisor. She was instrumental in getting a Fort Peck Housing office in Wolf Point to serve the west end. She worked for FPHA for 12 years before retiring. Later she worked at the Wolf Point Second Hand Store where she went over and above helping out under privileged people. She always had a smile for everybody.
She enjoyed watching rodeos and team roping. She enjoyed watching her kids participating in rodeo events. She would drive for miles and help her children any way she could. She loved watching Lifetime Movie Network. She enjoyed helping her family. She could fix just about anything—car, furnace, hot water heater, sewer systems, anything. She loved to read.
She deeply grieved the loss of two or her sisters. She was preceded in death by her mom, Gladys Jackson, and dad, Joe Jackson, sisters, Patricia Stump, and Darla Payne, and great niece JoLee Payne. She is survived by her children: Jason (Misti) Payne, Honey Grandchamp, and June-G (Chrissy) Grandchamp. Grandchildren: Terrell Hamilton, Taylor Hamilton, Sunni Martell, and Marti Lea Grandchamp. Sisters: Davey Jean (John) Stewart, Cleo (Larry) Hamilton, and JoEllen (Dale) Grandchamp. Special nephews: Steve stump, Jr. and Chans Standing.
Lynn was greatly loved by her family and her extended family. We will always miss you and our days will be lonely.
