Maria “Opel” Annette Longtree-Youngman went home to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019 in Billings, MT. She was surrounded by her children. Maria was born on January 26, 1959 to Alice Mae (Lester) and Clarence Longtree, Sr. in Poplar.
Maria attended schools in Poplar, Great Fall, Utah and Oklahoma and got her GED in 1983 and graduated from FPCC in 1993 with an AA.S. in Building Trades and Tribal Law in 2004 and Truck Driving in 2010. She worked at A&S Industries in the 1980’s and HIP in the early 1990’s. She helped build the RLS Building and Roofs, Youth Care Worker 1995-1997, Lead Correctional Officer at the jail from 1997-2000, Highway Safety Officer May to October 2000, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Dept Jailer 2001-2004 left to go back to school then went back to the County from 2005-2008, Process Server from July to August 2009. She helped raise her grandchildren from 2010-2014. Then she worked at the school as a cook until her passing.
She was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Montana Griz fan and dedicated Poplar Indians fan. She loved to attend and travel to all her grandkids events.
Maria met Thomas Dean Youngman, Sr. and they were married on January 28, 1984. They had three children, DeAnne, Thomas Youngman, Jr. and Mahogany Rose.
Maria is survived by 1 daughter DeAnne Monique Youngman,1 son Thomas Youngman, Jr.; 2 grandsons Dion Robert Hopkins, Jr. and Xhaiden Kane Youngman and 3 granddaughters, Dionna Rose, Devlyn Renee Hopkins and Leila Youngman; 1 brother Clarence Longtree, Jr.; 3 sisters Pauline Granbois, Tara Longtree and Margaret Olson. Also she was a godmtoehr to Tyson Granbois and Mariah and Leece Williams. Sisters-in-law, Eloise, Delores, Izzy Youngman, Wilma Snell, Donna Black Dog, Joyce Martell, and Lynnette Longhair and brother-in-law Douglas Youngman, Jr. She had a very special niece whom she went to Vikings games, casinos, pow-wows, dart tournaments, concerts, cruising and traveling to many places with, Meredith “Muncho” Granbois.
Deceased 1 daughter Mahogany Rose Youngman; husband Thomas Youngman, Sr.; sisters Clarice Iron Leggins and brothers Robert Longtree, Sr., Stanley Longtree, Kevin Longtree, Dennis Longtree and John Hindu Muskrat.
