Marie Joyce Clark was born September 27, 1942 to Esther Yellow Owl and Andrew Shyface. The Lord took her home on January 18, 2016.
Marie grew up in both the Poplar and Wolf Point areas and was raised by both sets of grandparents. She attended school in Poplar, MT and later in Flandreau, SD. She had many jobs in her younger years, but she talked most about her job at Faith Lutheran Home. Marie had big heart and a kind soul as she always went out of her way to help others, especially family and friends. She loved having family dinners, picnics, fishing, and long rides listening to country music.
Marie was a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and cousin to many. She had 7 children that were a huge part of her life. Later in life she met a very special man, Edmond Clark that finally became her husband on January 6, 1996 after being together for approximately 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edmond Clark; children Elizabeth Porras, Jeannette Young, and Michael Young; her siblings Charlotte Calder, June Shyface, Delores Red Eagle, Elmer “Delmer” Shyface, Emil Laverdure, and Ervin Laverdure.
Marie is survived by her children, Donald (Isabel) Shyface, Eldon (Brenda) Porras Jr., Jennifer (George) Porras, and Shelly Porras. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen Laverdure, John Laverdure, and Patrick Laverdure. Surviving, also, is the numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she dearly loved.
A prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, January 21 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 22 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point with cremation to follow. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
