Marilyn Mail

November 30, 1946 — September 18, 2021

Marilyn Winona Mail Sandoval, 74, passed onto the spirit world September 18, 2021 at her home. She was born to Gwendolyn Mail Johnson and Gordon R. Mail on November 30, 1946.

Marilyn attended and graduated from poplar High School. She moved to Dallas, TX in the early 1980’s. She moved to Billings where she lived for a while. She then moved home to Poplar to help care for our mother. She worked in the Billings and Poplar area in construction as a flagger for the State and the Tribes for many years. She also worked at the Tribal Express Casino for many years.

She became friends with Gene Loendorf, who always booked her flights to Billings and always made sure she was taken care of on her return from Billings. She had friends young and old, was always helpful to those in need as she was a generous person. She would always give advice when needed. We will miss her dearly. She loved our family dinners and loved her cats very much and would always take in a stray.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Gwen and Gordon Mail, to brothers, Gary and Wendell Mail, maternal grandparents, Dave Johnson and Eliza No Breast Johnson, paternal grandparents, Jack Mail and Lucy (Kuhn) Mail, two infant siblings, a brother John Mail, a niece Alexandra Mail Lopez and a special granddaughter Ashta Nichol Clark, two precious cats Honey Pot and Glamour Puss.

She leaves behind a daughter, Gwen Mail (John) Clark, two grandsons Michael (Halli Paige) and Josh Clark, two very special great-grandsons, Boo Boo and Kesh Clark, two brothers Russell (Verdis) and Alan Mail, her nieces Lee Marie mail Red Elk (Derik), two grandsons River and Jace Lee red Elk of Cubbuck, ID, Talon Jade Mail, a nephew Brian J. Mail Sr., and grandsons, ReShaun and Brian Mail Jr., and Zeke Brown, a granddaughter, Shia Leigh Bear Heart, all of Poplar, a special nephew Brett Miller of Billings, MT, sister-in-law Theresa Iron Cloud, nephews Raymond, Chelsea, Wendell Jr., William, John, David, nieces Chelsea and Patty Joe, all of Wolf Point, and many more cousins and nephews and relatives too many to mention at this time.
