Marla Jean Jackson “Gray Squirrel Woman”, 47, left us to be with the Lord on March 30, 2021 in Billings, MT with her family by her side.
Marla was born on November 10, 1973 in Wolf Point, MT to Mary Sue Jackson and Reginald Hotomanie. She grew up in Frazer, MT graduating in May 1992. She enjoyed cheerleading, basketball, cross country and volleyball all throughout her high school years. Marla also met the love her life Richard Clark the year of her senior year. From this union they had 3 children, Bradley, Linnea and Brett.
She worked at Git & Go, Nakoda Trail Shop and also worked as a paraprofessional at the Frazer school. She enjoyed playing pool and won many tournaments. She had 25 grandbabies who she loved and called each one her baby. Marla had many “babies” she loved to over on everyone’s kids and claimed them all as her own. She was patiently waiting on her latest grandson who will be making his arrival this July. Her grandbabies, Da’Shaun, Quincee and Malayna all thought the world of their Nana and who she would do anything for.
Marla is survived by her children, Bradley Clark, Linnea (Michael) Escarcega and Brett Clark; her spouse Richard Clark; mother Mary Sue Jackson; sisters Marlyce Jackson and Karen McNabb; brothers Marlin (Tina) Jackson, Milo (Jewel) Jackson, Morris Jackson, Myron (Dee) Jackson; favorite Auntie Wilberta (Marvin) Toavs; aunties Millie and Meryle Hotomanie and Tan Leckie; friends she took as sisters Norina Fisher, Lana Fourstar, Gracie Ackerman, Doral Doney, Tina Jackson, Dejondra and Colleen Gardipee, Lynn YellowWolf, Janeen Firemoon and DaniJo Bushman. All her babies, relatives from Fort Belknap, Billings, North Dakota and CTK Canada.
Marla is preceded in death by her dad, Reginald Hotomanie; brother Miles Jackson; grandmother Mary B. Hayes; special nephew Brayden Jackson; uncles Wilbert, Clarence, Emerson, Stonewall and James Jackson, Mike, Gary and Elvis Hotomanie, Terry Ryder; aunties Rosalyn “Toni” Jackson, Frances Jackson, RoseMary Bullchief and Glennis Jack; grandpas Wilbert Jackson, August Hayes and all her relatives from Fort Belknap and CTK Canada.
Marla had many friends. We are so sorry if we forgot anyone. Just know she loved and cared for every one of you.
