The Legacy

Marvin Lloyd Azure, age 66 of Wolf Point, MT passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.

Marvin L. Azure, the son of Ben and Margie (Krantz) Azure, was born May 30, 1945 in Poplar, MT. Marvin went to school in Wolf Point and Flandreau Boarding School. He also attended Eastern Montana College. He was in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.

Marvin married Vicky Spotted Bull in 1968. They had three children- Paul A. Azure, Rena L. Azure, and Jeff L. Azure- all of Wolf Point. Vicky and Marvin divorced, but they remained as friends. Marvin then married Jessie R. Redstone. They had three children- Marissa R. Azure, Christian B. Redstone, and Chance J. Redstone- all of Wolf Point.

Marvin worked for the Bechtel Corporation and Montana Power. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs with irrigation, later becoming a supervisor. He retired in 2007 as a Facilities Manager for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was a member of the Musician’s Union.

Marvin enjoyed playing guitar, hunting and fishing, camping, visiting friends and family, and driving around.

Marvin is survived by his wife- Jessie Azure, his children- Paul Azure, Rena Azure, Jeff Azure, Marissa Azure, Christian Redstone, and Chance Redstone- all of Wolf Point, Montana; his brother- Pastor Kenny Azure of Wolf Point; 7 sisters- Belva Ashley of Sacramento, CA- Jerry Belgarde of Billings, Montana- Mary Clairmont of Ronan, Montana- Edna Azure of Missoula, Montana- Gloria Warclub of Wolf Point, Montana, and Patty Warclub of Wolf Point, Montana. He is also survived by 3 grandsons- Lloyd Whitehawk, Andrew Azure, and Griffin Azure- all of Wolf Point, Montana

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents- Ben and Margie Azure; Brothers- Donald Azure, Ben Azure, Jr., James Azure, Alfred Azure, and Leo Belgrade; Sisters- Marilyn Bennett and Philomena Beaupree.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9pm, Tuesday, November 8 at Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 10am, Wednesday, November 9 at Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.

Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
