Mason Evan Runs Through was born September 7, 1936 in Wiota, Montana to Marion Runs Through and Katie K. Owens. He was the paternal grandson of Tall Youth and Depends On the Nose and maternal grandson of Shahiya and Mary Owens.
Mason left his family on February 8, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, MT.
He attended elementary school in Frazer, MT; enlisted into the Army on September 30, 1953 then deployed to Korea and honorably discharged on December 27, 1957 with National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter (Rifle).
Mason returned home and in the following year he attended a round dance as a singer of a drum group at the Chicken Hill Community Hall and saw Irene Fourstar. He pursued a relationship with her and they were married on April 11, 1959 in Wolf Point, MT.
Mason and Irene lived in Frazer from April 1959 to November 1962 then made their home in Moses Lake, WA until their return back to Frazer in 1969. They stayed with relatives in the surrounding area of Frazer, Glasgow and Glasgow Air Force Base. Then he and Irene acquired a 4 bedroom in Frazer and he secured a full time job with C&M Construction in Poplar, MT.
Mason pursued a career in electrical work and acquired his journeyman electrician permit, then received his Master Electrician license and established his own electrical company, MERT Electric and was known for his work on many Fort Peck Housing Authority subdivisions and in several counties, Roosevelt, Dawson and McCone.
Mason is survived by his children; Phyllis (Austin) Spotted Wolf and Rose Lee of Frazer, MT, Vincent Wayne and Adam Wade of Wolf Point, MT, Mason Jr. (Jamie) of Watford City, ND, Anthony Carl of Oswego, MT, Eldon Gene (Leah) of Billings, MT and Matthew Dale (Patricia) of Wolf Point, MT. He leaves 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mason is survived by one brother Floyd C. Runs Through of Bedford, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene and his parents Marion and Katie; step father Stonewall Jackson; two brothers Louis and Wallace and three sisters Isabelle Ackerman, Wilma Christianson and Ardis Holgren.
