Michael James Bisbee

September 24, 1989 — August 26, 2009

Michael James Bisbee, age 19, of Wolf Point, died suddenly August 26, 2009 in a one-vehicle accident north of Wolf Point.

Mike was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Loren and Wendy Bisbee on September 24, 1989. He attended schools in Wolf Point and graduated in 2008. Mike attended Glendive Community College for one semester on a rodeo scholarship then moved to Billings where he worked. He returned to Wolf Point in June, 2009 to help his dad with the cows and haying and was working for the City of Wolf Point Water Department.

Mike loved to do so many things and he loved to spend time with his friends. When he was young he could always be found in wranglers, boots and a hat, along with a rope and a toy gun of some sort. In high school he participated as a team-roper, with special teammate Phillip Maurer, and he competed as a calf roper. Mike was a member of the Go-Getters’ Roping Club, Montana High School Rodeo Association and National Collegiate Rodeo Association. Mike was a natural at anything. He played baseball and wrestled as a youth; was a natural golfer, loved football, bird-hunting, deer-hunting, and fishing. One of his true loves was cooking and he spent many mornings cooking for his gramps. Anyone will tell you he was a heck of a hard worker!

Mike was an entertainer. He could make anyone laugh and enjoyed everyone he came in contact with. He had the greatest sense of humor, was quick-witted and touchy-feely. He made friends wherever he went and will always be remembered for his “git-r-done” attitude and tattoos.

Mike is survived by his friend and father, Loren (Vicki) Bisbee of Wolf Point, his mother, Wendy Bisbee of Minot, sister Irene “Renee” Bisbee of Billings, brothers Shawn Hanks of Wolf Point and Jeremy Eide of Williston, ND, stepbrother Marc Hough and stepsister, Angela (Kevin) Hale both of Kansas, special adoptive family, Dan, JoEllen, Katie (Jeff) and Phillip Maurer of Wolf Point, Gramps Charlie (Barb) Bisbee of Wolf Point, Grams Joan Johnson of Williston, aunts and uncles Renee Bowman, Sam and Kelly Booke, and Geri and Gary Hudson all of Williston, ND, Keith (friend Kristy) Johnson of Dickinson, ND, Kelvin and Elaine Johnson of Billings, Julie and Jim Hubert of Virginia Beach, VA, Russ and Mary Johnson of Elmira, OR and many, many cousins. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandma, Irene Bisbee and Maternal Grandpa, Roger Johnson.

A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, August 30 at the Wolf Point High School gym with a viewing at 1:00 p.m. and a Service officiated by Pastor Steve Smith at 2:00 p.m.. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. The family would like to request you to Dare to Wear Pink and encourages friends to be an outrider on the way to Greenwood Cemetery.
