Michael Dean Todd, 48, of Poplar, MT passed away April 1, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings. Michael was also known as “Doba Gea” Four Directions, Charlie and Laughs A Lot.
Mike was born April 2, 1968 in Wolf Point to Roberta Archdale and Arnold Todd. He was an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine Sioux Tribes and was active in traditional Assiniboine ceremonies. On June 13, 1994 he married JoAnne Jackson in Salt Lake City, UT.
Mike loved fishing and in his younger years he was runner up for Montana Golden Glove boxing club. He loved his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He had many lodge brothers and sisters. He had a radiating personality and spread his love. Mike was known for his good heart and was a strong advocate for the people of the reservation.
Mike completed his Associate degree from Fort Peck Community College. He worked at A&S Industries, Native Children’s Trauma Center, Fort Peck Tribes Cultural Mentor, Safe on all Roads and Community Activity Coordinator.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Arnie Todd; brother Keith Kennedy; sisters Lorraine Todd, Ramona Todd Thomas and Florence Todd.
Mike is survived by his wife JoAnne of 22 years, of Poplar; his mother Roberta Archdale; sister Angie Kennedy, of Pablo; brothers Doug Schumacher, of Pullman, WA, Michael Turcotte, of Wolf Point, Roger White, Jr. of Wolf Point; grandmother Freda Fourstar; children Michael, Jace, Lucas, Chaz, Jeremy, Tyson M., C’erra, Dante, Kaitlyn, Kaydence, Mya, Marqi; niece and nephews Jen, Brian, Caressa, Tyler, Bre, Ameliya, Allie, Dan, Alex, David, Tyson G.; other relatives include the Todd, Wetsit, Fourstar, McGeshick, Bushman, and Fullerton families.
