Mildred (Millie) Nadean First, 48, Went to be with Ate Wakan Tanka and Mom on November 15, 2014 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mt. Millie’s Dakota name was Wacah’ga Yuha Mani Wi, (Walks with the Sweet Grass) given to her by her Unci the late Eva McKay from Sioux Valley, Manitoba. She was born December 28 1965 to Reno and Gladys First in Poplar, Mt. She attended school in Brockton participating in Football, Basketball and Cheerleading. Also attended for a while Four Winds high school in Fort Totten, ND.

Millie worked as a Waitress, Home Health Care Worker, Tribal Election Judge, and Housekeeper in Wolf Point. Millie liked to visit with family and friends always having a good laugh with them. Taking a nice cruise and listen to 80’s and 90’s music.

She is survived by a son Cory (Kerri) Schindler, Brothers Del, Tuffy, and Wayne First of Fort Kipp. Eugene (Sylvia) Hale Sr. and Douglas Sevginy of Spirit Lake ND. Merval Sherman of Parshall ND, and Joe Sherman of Spirit Lake, ND. Richard GreyBull of Virginia and Joel GreyBull of Poplar. Adopted Sister Hope Montoya who Millie resided with at the time of her passing. Aunts Ethelene White Hawk of Brockton, Karen Hamilton of Poplar. Merle Hapa and Catherine Spotted Bird, of Poplar. Flora, Vivian and Gwen Hapa and Hazel Sutherland all of Canada. Pricilla Carpenter and Aletha Chopper of Fort Kipp. Uncles Casper Guy DeMarrias of Spirit Lake ND, Raymond Hapa of Sioux Valley Manitoba, Frank (Esther) Hapa of Fort Kipp Leland (Doris) Spotted Bird of Brockton,. Grandmothers Nellie Silk of Wolf Point, and Lorraine Stormy of Poplar. Special Cousins who Millie thought of as siblings Rena (Ray) Ostby, Paul Azure, of Wolf Point, Sheri DeMarrias of Fort Kipp, and Denise DeMarrias of Denver Co. Adopted Sisters Dani Red Bull, Ida Black Dog of Fort Kipp, Jamie Youpee and Darla Broken Leg Crow of Brockton.

Special Thank You from the family to all her Indian way adopted Family and Friends from Wolf Point to numerous to name Dina Wopida Tanka (Thank you so much!)

Preceded in death by her parents Son Anthony Kane First, Sister Lois Ann Lawrence, Grandmother Jessie DeMarrias, Great Grandmother Sarah White Dog Lawrence. Aunts Olivia Sherman, Janet Kopperdahl, Vicky Spotted Bull Azure, Christine First, Wanda GreyBull, Myrna First. Uncles, Abe DeMarrias, Wayne, DeMarrias, Calvin First, Dean First, Cousins Iris, Meredith, and Calvin Sherman, Terry and Andrea DeMarrias, Sheryl Ann Kopperdahl, Nephew Joray Four Bear.

Also extended families the Four Bears, White Eagles, Perrys, Spotted Birds, DeMarrias of Fort Peck. McKays, Hapas and White Dogs of Sioux Valley Manitoba. Sutherlands of Canumpa Wakpa Manitoba, Feathers, and Mazakaomanis of Spirit Lake, ND. We have so many relatives if we forgot any please forgive us.
