Monte Roy Youngman, age 60, of Poplar, MT passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Poplar Community Hospital.
Monte, the son of William Youngman Jr. and Stella C. (Coulter) Youngman, was born on June 2, 1951 in Poplar. He received his high school diploma.
In January of 1969, Monte enlisted in the army. He attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri before his deployment to Vietnam. His service was short as he received an honorable discharge in February 1970.
Monte enjoyed spending time with family, watching TV, listening to music and playing bingo. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Poplar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Youngman Jr. and Stella Youngman.
Monte is survived by his brothers, Leonard Youngman and Eldon Youngman both of Poplar; sister, Doris Gone of Harlem, MT; uncle, Mike Youngman Sr. of Poplar; and aunts, Florence Youngman, Rita Long Chase, Myrna Charbouneau all of Poplar, Val Keener of Reno, NV, Janet Spencer of Idaho; cousins from the families of De Leon’s, Yellow Owl’s, Pederson’s, Redd’s, Holen’s, Spencer’s, Gourneau’s, Youpee’s, Wakan’s, Georgia Red Eagle’s, and Grandma Loraine Stormy.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Friday, February 3 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 4 also at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Box Elder Cemetery in Poplar.
